FIRST GUARD

FirstGuard™ Advanced Handheld RAMAN Spectrometer

For High-performance Handheld Chemical Identification
With Integrated Vial Sample Holder and Quick Change Battery

The FirstGuard analysis has an integrated vial holder, switchable lithium ion battery, and optional barcode/RFID reader and comes with an active trigger built into an easy to grip handle. The FirstGuard is ideal for both GMP and non GMP facilities and can be configured with secure software for 21 CRF Part 11 compliance. It also comes with a choice of 532, 785 and 1064nm lasers to meet most application requirements.

Long battery life for extended field deployment

Extended battery life (>4 hours) allows continuous, uninterrupted work in the field.

On the go – point and shoot analysis

Easy to use, the FirstGuard delivers accurate identification results in a matter of seconds. Since the identification is based on the chemical fingerprint (each chemical/sample will have its own fingerprint) on the molecular level, there is no chance for mix-up or human error.

Unlike most sample analysis techniques, there is no sample preparation needed for FirstGuard. Its ability to penetrate plastic bags and glass bottles means that you can analyze the sample without having to open the container saving time and also reducing the risk to exposure/contamination. The FirstGuard is designed from the ground up for field and warehouse use.

Unique open architecture softwareand libraries

Due to BaySpec software’s unique open architecture, the user can either build their own spectral library based on their collection of standard samples or import tens of thousands of high quality spectra from third party specialty Raman databases (such as forensics, toxic chemicals, or high volume-production solvents).

The FirstGuard is run by a full-featured Windows-based ultra-compact computer, thus it is easy to download data or communicate with centralized facilities by Wi-Fi™ or Bluetooth™.

Key design benefits:
  • No sample prep
  • Ruggedized and ergonomic design
  • Fast and accurate chemical identification
  • Open spectral library
  • Direct shooting or integrated vial holder
  • USB and Bluetooth interface
  • Microsoft® Windows™ computer platform
